Bio
Jimmy Nice & The Know is an Australian hip-hop and live music project led by rapper and songwriter Jimmy Nice, best known as one half of the ARIA-nominated duo Spit Syndicate and a key member of the influential Sydney collective One Day. The project marks a new creative chapter for Jimmy Nice, moving beyond traditional hip-hop into a more live, cinematic, and band-driven sound, blending rap lyricism with soulful instrumentation and atmospheric production. In 2025, Jimmy Nice & The Know released their debut album As It Echoed Off The Stoop, issued through One Day Recordings in partnership with EMI Music Australia. The record showcases a reflective and deeply personal style, exploring themes such as fatherhood, identity, grief, faith, and personal transformation. The Know functions as a collaborative live ensemble made up of Sydney musicians and producers, helping shape a richer, full-band sound that departs from Jimmy Nice’s earlier duo-based hip-hop work. Jimmy Nice first rose to prominence in the mid-2000s through Spit Syndicate, known for their contribution to modern Australian hip-hop and their role in the wider One Day collective, alongside acts like Horrorshow and Jackie Onassis. With Jimmy Nice & The Know, he continues to evolve as an artist, merging storytelling rap with live instrumentation and a more expansive, emotional sonic direction.
