Bio
Joey Lightbulb (real name Mikey Cahill) is a celebrated Melbourne‑based DJ and party‑starter known for his eclectic, crowd‑pleasing sets that pull from disco, house, indie rock, techno, funk & soul, hip‑hop and more — truly “whatever the party needs.” Since debuting at Club UK in 2001, Joey has built a strong reputation across Australia and internationally, performing at major festivals like Golden Plains and Meredith Music Festival, as well as iconic venues in Melbourne and abroad. He’s held residencies at clubs such as Revolver Upstairs and Night Cat, and has supported acts including The Presets, Roisin Murphy, Chet Faker, and Tash Sultana. Known as the “Fan of the People” selector, his long sets mix squelchy disco, jacking house, indie bangers, rave techno, funky soul and more — all delivered with a high‑energy vibe that keeps dancefloors moving. Joey also works as a music journalist, MC, video creator and trivia host, and has even been featured in other creative roles outside the DJ booth.
