Co-organiser, musical host, speaker tweaker, hifi geek, and general busybody at Apricot Ballroom Soundsystem, Grub Records, and Kegstand Gabe, AKA Joi L.F, has been collecting and selecting records for a little under 15 years, and is an avid and eclectic digger. He's the co-owner and organiser at Grub Records, Apricot Ballroom, and Kegstand, and hosts three regular shows on Worldwide FM and Kitchen Radio. His sets and selections vary wildly from night to night, set to set, and party to party: You might hear chuggy, druggy downtempo electronica at the Kegstand parties; funk, soul, jazz, house, and world selections at Apricot Ballroom; and breakbeat, electro, and techno in his wider sets. An obsessive speaker and hi-fi nerd to boot, the music selections are typically guided by that affectation, and focus on interesting and unusual sounds and production styles.
