Bio
Jos Rivers is the next rising star we recommend watching at The Great Escape. Born and raised in Cheadle, the BRIT School graduate has built a growing reputation for her sharp songwriting, self-aware humour and viral clips that capture the chaos and contradictions of early adulthood. She signed to RCA off the back of an Accenture Prize win for Best Live Performer, and has been turning satirical, confessional snapshots of Gen-Z girlhood into songs ever since. One viral clip at a time, she's pulled in a loyal online following and co-signs from Ren, Meghan Trainor and Skye Newman along the way. 'He's A Genius' is her latest and third release from her forthcoming debut EP 'Thankyou so very much' (3 July), pairing indie-pop production with witty social commentary about the different standards boys and girls grow up with. Next up are appearances at The Great Escape Festival, playing Patterns Upstairs at 7.15pm on Wednesday and Komedia Studio at 7.15pm on Thursday, before a headline show at Paper Dress Vintage on 3 June and summer festival slots at Boardmasters and Victorious Festival. She’ll also appear at The Other Songs supporting Nile Rodgers at the London Palladium on 19 May. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
