Kaktus Einarsson is an Icelandic musician, composer, producer, and visual artist best known as a founding member of the experimental post-punk band Fufanu. After the band went on hiatus, he launched a solo career that explores atmospheric art rock, post-punk, dream pop, and electronic music while continuing to work as a producer and collaborator within Iceland's vibrant music scene. Born and raised in Reykjavík, Iceland, Einarsson developed an interest in both visual art and music from an early age. His multidisciplinary background is reflected in his solo work, which often combines cinematic soundscapes with introspective songwriting and striking visual aesthetics. His debut solo album, Kick the Ladder (2021), introduced a more personal sound that mixed post-punk rhythms, shimmering guitars, synthesizers, and experimental production. He followed it with Lobster Coda (2024), expanding his palette with jazz, orchestral arrangements, and collaborations with Icelandic artists including GDRN and JFDR.
