Bio
Kasem is a Melbourne (Naarm)-based rock band that blends indie rock, blues, and 90s-inspired alternative influences into a lively, guitar-driven sound. Originally formed through informal “smoko jam sessions,” the project grew out of casual rehearsals between friends working day jobs in healthcare, eventually evolving into a fully formed band with original material and a dedicated recording setup. The band developed their sound in a DIY home studio environment, refining a style that combines grunge-era energy, melodic rock hooks, and laid-back indie grooves. Their music reflects both a nostalgic influence from 90s rock and a modern Australian indie sensibility. Kasem released their debut single “Million Dollar Man” (2025), marking the beginning of their original release era, following years of playing covers at local functions and festivals across Victoria. Their work often balances raw live-band energy with thoughtful songwriting and layered instrumentation.
