Kate Bollinger is an American singer‑songwriter and indie pop/folk artist originally from Charlottesville, Virginia who creates warm, introspective, and genre‑blending music rooted in indie pop, folk, and subtle psychedelic influences. She began recording and releasing music independently in high school, self‑releasing her first EP Key West in 2017 and continuing with subsequent collections like I Don’t Wanna Lose and A Word Becomes a Sound. One of her early tracks, “Candy,” notably inspired a sample used by Kanye West on Donda. In 2022, Bollinger signed with Ghostly International and released Look at It in the Light, further establishing her signature sound of dreamy melodies, reflective lyrics and gentle instrumentation. Her debut full‑length album Songs From a Thousand Frames of Mind arrived in 2024 to critical acclaim, showcasing her blend of classic pop craft with mellow indie influences. Known for her intimate live performances and evocative songwriting, Bollinger has toured internationally and shared stages with artists like Faye Webster, Tennis and Devendra Banhart. Her music draws from ’60s and ’70s pop aesthetics while remaining grounded in modern indie sensibilities.
