Kite Vendor is a Melbourne-based alternative/dreamgaze band from the city’s eastern suburbs, blending indie rock and shoegaze-influenced soundscapes. Originally starting as a bedroom recording project, the group has developed into a full live band known for expansive, atmospheric guitar layers, driving rhythms, and emotionally immersive songwriting. Their sound draws inspiration from artists such as DIIV, Beach Fossils, Slowdive, Real Estate, and The Cure, combining nostalgic indie textures with modern dream-pop and shoegaze energy. Since moving into the live scene, Kite Vendor have gained attention for their high-energy performances and lush, reverb-heavy sonic style that sits between indie rock and ambient dreamgaze.
