Lara Anderson (born February 27, 2004) is an Australian singer and songwriter from Melbourne, Victoria, who first gained widespread attention as a teenager after her acoustic cover of Build Me Up Buttercup went viral in 2018 and reached the Spotify Top 50 in the Philippines while accumulating millions of streams worldwide. She began writing music at a very young age and continued developing her craft through self‑taught piano and songwriting before gaining traction online. Her music blends indie pop, acoustic, and emotive songwriting, with earnest vocals and introspective lyrics exploring themes of vulnerability, love and personal growth. Anderson is also the lead singer and keyboardist for the band Young Love, where she performs upbeat indie‑rock‑style songs about adolescence and relationships. She continues to release original music and perform live, including recent singles and a debut EP Lovesick, showcasing the evolution of her sound toward more robust indie pop and rock elements.
