Laurie Torres is a Canadian musician and composer, raised in Montréal, Quebec — she has Haitian roots. She has a diverse background: classical piano lessons from early age, played drums and participated in jazz ensembles, and her cultural exposure included Haitian records, hip‑hop, pop, and post‑rock. Torres has been active for many years as a session / touring musician — she’s worked with acts like Julia Jacklin, Pomme, and Land of Talk. In 2025 she released her debut solo album Après coup — marking a shift from band/session work to her own more personal, composer‑driven music.
