Loathe are an English heavy band from Liverpool, formed in 2014. They are known for blending aggressive metalcore with atmospheric and experimental elements, creating a sound that mixes heaviness with shoegaze-style texture and ambient sections. The band consists of Kadeem France (vocals), Erik Bickerstaffe (guitar/vocals), Sean Radcliffe (drums), and Feisal El-Khazragi (bass). Over time, they have become known for their genre-blurring style that includes metalcore, nu metal, alternative metal, and experimental influences. Loathe gained major attention with their 2020 album I Let It In and It Took Everything, which was praised for its dynamic shifts between heavy breakdowns and dreamy, emotional soundscapes. Their earlier work includes The Cold Sun (2017) and EPs that helped establish them in the UK heavy music scene. They are widely recognised for pushing the boundaries of modern heavy music, combining intensity with atmosphere and emotion in both studio recordings and live performances.
