Bio
Machine Head is an American heavy metal band formed in Oakland, California, in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce. They first broke through with their debut album Burn My Eyes (1994), blending groove and thrash metal to create brutal, powerful riffs. Over their career, Machine Head has evolved — experimenting with nu-metal, progressive arrangements, and conceptual albums — but always retained their aggressive intensity. Their critically acclaimed album The Blackening (2007) marked a high point, earning them widespread praise and a Grammy nomination. As of their 2025 release Unatoned, the band continues to push boundaries while staying true to their metal roots.
