Bio
MC Devvo is the stage persona of Christian Webb, a rapper and comedian from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, who became an early UK internet-comedy cult figure in the mid-2000s. He developed the character with animator David Firth, best known for Salad Fingers. Devvo first gained attention through online videos portraying an exaggerated Yorkshire “chav” character. The videos deliberately blurred the line between satire and reality, using crude humour, local slang and bass-heavy comedy rap. His breakout tracks included “Donny Soldier” and “Crystal Meffin,” followed by the 2007 album From Yorkshire to New York. The character also appeared on Channel 4's Funny Cuts. Musically, Devvo has cited 90s hip-hop, including artists such as Dr. Dre, 2Pac and Mobb Deep, as influences. His performances subsequently developed into a mixture of comedy, storytelling, music and DJ-style playback. After stepping back from the spotlight around the early 2010s, Devvo continued performing live and developed a particularly strong nostalgic following. In 2026, he announced a UK comeback tour, bringing the character back to live audiences.
