Melody Pool is an Australian folk and country singer-songwriter from Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, known for her heartfelt lyrics, soulful voice, and emotionally raw storytelling. The daughter of country musician Alby Pool, she began performing on stage at age eight and later developed her own songwriting voice, blending folk introspection with country warmth. Her early EPs Heart to Heart Talk (2008) and Awake, You’re All Around Me (2011) led to her crowdfunded debut album The Hurting Scene (2013), recorded in Nashville and later released through Liberation Music. Its honest lyricism and stripped-back beauty earned her national acclaim. In 2016, Pool released her second album, Deep Dark Savage Heart, exploring themes of heartbreak, identity, and resilience. It was named among Rolling Stone Australia’s 50 Best Albums of 2016. Following its release, Pool stepped back from the industry to focus on her mental health, later opening up publicly about depression and recovery. After several years of reflection, she returned to music with the 2023 EP Lost In Time, followed by her 2025 album Our Eternal Garden, recorded live to tape at Golden Retriever Studio. The album marks her creative rebirth — a return to authenticity, storytelling, and connection. Pool continues to be celebrated as one of Australia’s most powerful voices in contemporary folk and country.
