Bio
Mid City formed in 2018 in the inner north of Melbourne. Members are Joel Griffith (vocals), Ben Woodmason (guitar), Jimmy Campbell (bass), and Tim Woodmason (drums). They make energetic, relatable indie rock anthems with big hooks—songs that are designed for live stages and crowd sing-alongs. Their early breakthrough came with the single “Old Habits”, which was one of the most played tracks on Triple J, and also gained traction overseas (Germany). They released two EPs (Die Waiting in 2019, Wishing for the Best in 2020) and several singles including Choc Mint, Emily, Compromise. Their debut full-length album Happy Ever After came out in 2023. It was a big step forward, combining their strengths—earnest lyrics, energetic performances, catchy choruses. Live, they’re known for high-energy shows, festivals and touring in Australia, the UK, Europe. Their performances are often described as loud, fun, and emotionally direct.
