Bio
Midnight is an American metal band formed in 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. It began as a solo project by musician Jamie Walters, who performs under the stage name Athenar – he handles vocals and most instruments in the studio while touring with additional live members. Athenar started Midnight after the breakup of his previous punk band and released several demos and EPs before the group’s first full‑length album, Satanic Royalty, in 2011. The band quickly became a staple of the underground extreme metal scene, known for its raw, unfiltered sound and energetic live performances. Over the years Midnight has released multiple albums on labels including Hells Headbangers and Metal Blade Records, such as No Mercy for Mayhem (2014), Rebirth by Blasphemy (2019), Let There Be Witchery (2022), Hellish Expectations (2024), and Steel, Rust and Disgust (2025).
