Mila Haj Kasem, a Palestinian-Dutch DJ, blends hypnotic and raw techno. Based in Amsterdam, her music channels resilience and protest, creating a space where her audience can connect, express, and feel free. Mila Haj Kasem is an emerging DJ of Palestinian-Dutch descent, known for her unique blend of raw, hypnotic, and powerful techno. Based in Amsterdam, she is an active presence in the Dutch techno scene, which has helped her shape herself through her transition. She helps others to express themselves by creating and fostering queer safer spaces through NightGuides, a queer freelance awareness team. Mila views techno as a form of resilience, as a protest. Techno has always been an outlet for frustration and emotions; a tool to let go. With her music, she expresses a frustration towards society, an unscratchable itch to stand out and unite. An unique way to express oneself, while dancing and connecting. During her performances, she maintains a dark atmosphere, while keeping the synergy high, consistent and playfulness, creating a dynamic connection with her audience.
