Bio
Mondo Freaks is a 10-piece funk and soul collective from Melbourne, Australia. Originally formed by bassist Luke Hodgson and drummer Graeme Pogson, the band brings together top vocalists and musicians from the city’s soul scene. They started as a covers and concept band focusing on late ’70s/early ’80s funk, disco, and soul, and have evolved into an original-music outfit with a contemporary twist. Their sound blends boogie-funk, R&B, disco, and soul, emphasizing live instrumentation and strong vocals. In 2025, they released their self-titled debut album and singles like “Bells Are Ringing” and “I’m A Fool”. Known for energetic live shows and festival performances, they have also backed international funk and soul artists.
