Morcheeba are a British electronic music band formed in Folkestone, England, in the mid‑1990s by brothers Paul and Ross Godfrey, later joined by vocalist Skye Edwards. They emerged from the UK trip hop and downtempo scene and became known for their smooth fusion of trip hop, downtempo, rock, folk rock, soul and electronica across a prolific career spanning over three decades. Their 1996 debut Who Can You Trust? won underground acclaim, while their 1998 album Big Calm brought broader success with tracks like The Sea and helped define their signature sound — atmospheric grooves, warm vocals and lush production. Over the years they’ve released multiple albums and sold over 10 million records worldwide, blending mellow beats with organic instrumentation and cinematic textures. After evolving lineups and a period as Skye & Ross, Edwards and Ross Godfrey revived the Morcheeba name for later albums including Blackest Blue (2021) and Escape the Chaos (2025). Their enduring appeal lies in balancing chilled, introspective moods with soulful melodies that resonate with both longtime fans and new audiences. In 2026, Morcheeba returned to Australia for a national tour celebrating 30 years of genre‑defying music, performing shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
