Moths are a Melbourne-based Australian band known for their punk-driven indie rock sound and energetic DIY approach. The group describes themselves simply as a punk band, and their music reflects that raw, straightforward attitude — loud guitars, fast rhythms, and a strong DIY/underground spirit. They sit within the modern Australian independent scene and have been supported through platforms like Triple J Unearthed, which highlights emerging local artists. Their influences include classic and modern alternative rock acts, and their sound is often compared to bands like Nirvana, Turnstile, Queens of the Stone Age, Weezer, and Foo Fighters, showing a mix of punk, indie, and alternative rock energy. Overall, Moths represent a straightforward, high-energy Australian punk/rock act, focused on live performance, DIY culture, and gritty guitar-driven songwriting.
