Bio
Mourners are an Australian doom metal band delivering slow, crushing soundscapes built on heaviness, atmosphere, and emotional weight. Their music is defined by down-tuned riffs, deliberate pacing, and a dense, immersive tone that leans into the darker edges of metal. Drawing from traditional doom foundations while incorporating elements of sludge and atmospheric metal, Mourners create a sound that is both oppressive and introspective. Their compositions emphasise mood and tension, allowing each passage to unfold gradually with a focus on depth and sonic texture. Rooted in the underground heavy scene, Mourners continue to develop their presence through powerful live performances and a commitment to slow, uncompromising heaviness.
