Nathan Roche is an Australian musician, singer‑songwriter and frontman, originally from Townsville, Queensland. He is best known for his adventurous, genre‑defying work that blends garage rock, psychedelic influences, post‑punk and experimental songwriting, often delivered with a freewheeling, poetic sensibility. Roche spent many years based in France, where he led the cult underground rock band Le Villejuif Underground and the experimental duo CIA Débutante. During his time overseas he played hundreds of international shows — from squats in Eastern Europe to festival sets in China — collaborating with a wide range of artists and incorporating diverse influences into his music. As a solo artist he has released numerous albums, including *A Break Away* and *35 Rue du Théâtre* (on Celluloid Records), showcasing his blend of garage rock, psychedelic storytelling and art‑driven songwriting. Roche continues to perform live, equally comfortable playing solo or with a band, bringing his unique fusion of styles back to audiences in Australia and abroad.
