Nightmares on Wax is the long‑running electronic music project of George Herbert Evelyn (born January 15, 1970) — an English DJ and record producer from Leeds, UK. Starting in 1988, he was originally part of a duo before becoming the sole creator behind the name. Over more than three decades he has released influential albums on Warp Records such as A Word of Science, Smokers Delight, Carboot Soul and Shape the Future, blending downtempo, trip‑hop, soul, hip‑hop, funk and electronic textures into a distinctive sound that helped shape the 1990s chill‑out scene and beyond. Though based in Ibiza, he tours worldwide — including scheduled shows in Australia and New Zealand in 2026 — and remains a respected figure in electronic music culture.
