Nordic Giants are a British cinematic post-rock duo formed in Brighton, England in 2010. The group consists of the masked musicians Loki and Rôka, who perform anonymously behind elaborate costumes and theatrical stage design. From the beginning, Nordic Giants set out to create more than a conventional band. Their performances combine instrumental post-rock, orchestral elements, electronics, and film, with live shows featuring projected short films, animations, and visual storytelling synchronized to the music. This immersive audiovisual approach quickly helped them stand out within the European post-rock scene. After building a reputation through atmospheric live performances and EP releases, the duo released their debut album A Séance of Dark Delusions in 2015. The record blended sweeping cinematic instrumentals with spoken-word samples and collaborations with filmmakers and guest vocalists. It was followed by Amplify Human Vibration in 2017, which further developed their sound with larger orchestral arrangements and powerful thematic storytelling about humanity and connection. Their third album, Symbiosis (2022), expanded their cinematic style even further, incorporating collaborations with filmmakers and musicians while continuing their tradition of combining music with visual art. Known for emotionally intense compositions and immersive live experiences, Nordic Giants have performed across Europe and international festivals, earning a reputation for shows that feel closer to a multimedia art performance than a typical rock concert.
