Nothing Sacred are a pioneering Australian heavy metal band formed in Melbourne in 1983, widely regarded as one of the country’s earliest acts to push the boundaries of speed and thrash metal. Emerging from the underground scene of the 1980s, the band quickly gained recognition with their debut EP *Deathwish* (1985) and later the album *Let Us Prey* (1988), establishing a reputation for high-energy performances and a raw, aggressive sound. Blending the intensity of early thrash with melodic influences from classic heavy metal, Nothing Sacred became a key force in shaping Australia’s metal landscape. After disbanding in the late 1980s, the group reunited in the 2010s, reigniting their presence with new material including the album *No Gods* (2021) and the EP *Leviathan* (2023), showcasing both their legacy and evolution. With decades of history behind them, Nothing Sacred continue to perform and release music, maintaining their status as a respected name in Australia’s underground metal scene.
