Nuada is an Australian stoner rock and heavy psych band from Melbourne, known for their sludgy riffs, heavy groove-based songwriting, and spacey, psychedelic guitar work. Formed by a group of Melbourne rock veterans, the band delivers a sound that blends stoner rock, sludge metal, and classic hard rock influences. Their music is built around downtuned, B-tuned guitars, thick bass lines, and expansive, riff-driven compositions that move between slow-burning heaviness and explosive, distorted climaxes. Nuada’s style is often described as a mix of Kyuss-inspired desert rock groove with elements of Alice in Chains-style weight and dark melodic tension. The band features experienced musicians from previous Australian rock and grunge projects, and quickly established a reputation in the underground scene through early singles and their debut album Beneath The Swamp (2019), released via Desert Highways. Nuada have performed at underground festivals and supported a range of heavy psych and stoner acts, building momentum within Australia’s modern heavy rock circuit. Their sound is both hypnotic and aggressive, designed for loud, immersive live performance.
