Bio
Oby Onyioha emerged in the early 1980s during a major boom in Nigerian popular music, when disco, funk, and highlife influences were blending into new urban pop styles. She is best known for her hit track **“Enjoy Your Life” (1981)**, which became a defining song of Nigeria’s early post-disco era. The track gained renewed international attention decades later after being rediscovered by DJs and collectors of rare Afro-disco and boogie music. Her work was part of a wider movement of Nigerian female vocalists shaping modern Afro-pop and dance music, often combining English lyrics with African rhythmic structures.
