ODERA transmutes across timelines and sonic frequencies employing rhythm as a force for freedom. Dancefloor centred liberation. Black sound, electronic afro-futures and the deep houses of the Atlantic ocean. The DJ as the GRIOT - Afrovisualism Maya Angelou — 'Everything in the universe has a rhythm, everything dances.' As a GRIOT of black music, literature and art, ODERA channels her web of influences through afro-centered electronic sound. Her DJ sets orbit the spheres of Kuduro, Deep house, footwork, Detroit techno, Afro-spiritual trance and beyond. A long sentence to say, no two sets are the same; each an expansive journey. ODERA touches each dance floor with openness, asking the same of her audiences. As heard at Happy Survival, CIRCLES, the Tate Modern, Friends and Lovers Brooklyn; as well as the LOT, Balamii and Hotel Paris Radios.
