Oscar O’Shea is a singer‑songwriter based in lutruwita (Tasmania), Australia, originally from Launceston in the island’s north. He writes narrative‑rich, folk‑inflected songs that explore themes of vulnerability, identity, change and human struggles. After pursuing a more conventional path (university studies and a full‑time job) Oscar found that his creative drive persisted. A chance meeting with producer John Castle led him to reset on his music career and start releasing original material. The Music His singles “Redemption” and “Lost the Light” reflect this turning‑point: the latter uses imagery of light, darkness and landscapes in Tasmania to convey emotional depth and personal realisation.
