Bio
Pamela is a Sydney-based Australian indie pop duo formed by Josh Kempen and Sarah Ellen. Emerging from the creative setting of their Kingsford living room, the pair made their live debut in May 2024 at The Pleasure Club in Newtown. Drawing inspiration from the atmospheric minimalism of The xx, the guitar-driven energy of The Strokes, and the heartfelt songwriting of Angus & Julia Stone, Pamela crafts dreamy, melodic songs that blend indie pop with indie rock influences. Their music pairs intimate vocals with shimmering guitars and understated rhythms, as showcased in tracks like "Rather Be," earning them growing attention within Australia's independent music scene.
