Panda Bear is the stage name of Noah Benjamin Lennox, an American musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born on July 17, 1978, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is best known as a founding member of the experimental pop band Animal Collective, where he contributes vocals, drums, and electronics. Panda Bear's music is characterized by its blend of psychedelic pop, experimental electronica, and sample-based compositions. His work often features layered harmonies, ambient textures, and a collage-like approach to songwriting. Notably, his 2007 album Person Pitch is credited with influencing the chillwave genre and has been lauded for its innovative use of samples and reverb-heavy production.
