Parkway Drive is an Australian heavy metal band formed in 2003 in Byron Bay, New South Wales. Consisting of vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Jeff Ling and Luke Kilpatrick, bassist Jia O'Connor, and drummer Ben Gordon, the band emerged from the Australian hardcore scene and quickly became one of the country's most successful heavy music exports. Renowned for their crushing riffs, powerful breakdowns, and anthemic songwriting, Parkway Drive has continually evolved their sound from metalcore roots to a more expansive blend of modern heavy metal. The band gained international recognition with albums such as *Killing with a Smile* (2005), *Horizons* (2007), *Deep Blue* (2010), and *Atlas* (2012), before achieving mainstream success with *Ire* (2015), *Reverence* (2018), and *Darker Still* (2022), all of which helped cement their status as one of the leading bands in modern metal. Their last three studio albums reached No. 1 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, and they have headlined major festivals while touring extensively with acts including Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Trivium, Architects, and While She Sleeps. Known for their cinematic live productions and relentless energy, Parkway Drive has become a defining force in contemporary heavy music, earning worldwide acclaim for both their studio recordings and explosive live performances.
