PEPTALK are a self-produced all-female indie-pop trio from Sydney, Australia, comprised of Jay-Lee Kwan (keys), Lara Frew (bass), and Phoebe Sinclair (vocals). Formed in the early 2020s, the group gained recognition for their vibrant blend of alt-pop, indie, and dream pop, drawing influences from artists such as MUNA, Remi Wolf, and Haim. Their lyrics explore themes of teenage nostalgia, queer identity, self-expression, and heartache, resonating strongly with younger audiences. The band self-produce much of their music, with Lara and Phoebe also producing under the name Middleman. Their debut EP Dumb Teen Heartache established their presence in the Australian indie scene, followed by collaborations with Montaigne, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Jeremy Neale. Singles like Your World (with Montaigne) and Blind (featuring Keiynan Lonsdale) showcase their playful yet emotional style. Known for their electrifying live shows, PEPTALK have become one of Australia’s emerging acts to watch, pushing boundaries of indie-pop with authenticity and creativity.
