Phantastic Ferniture are a Sydney‑based indie rock/garage pop band formed in 2014 by old friends Julia Jacklin (lead vocals), Elizabeth Hughes (guitar), Ryan K Brennan (drums/producer) and Tom Stephens (bass). The group began spontaneously — born out of a late‑night idea among friends — as a way to make fun, upbeat music outside of their more serious solo projects, with a “don’t overthink it” mentality at its core. Their self‑titled debut album was released in 2018, blending garage pop energy with catchy melodies and carefree spirit, drawing from raw rock influences and bright, danceable hooks. Singles like “Fuckin ’n’ Rollin’”, “Bad Timing” and “Dark Corner Dance Floor” showcase their playful, spontaneous approach to songwriting and performance. After a period of hiatus as members pursued other projects, the band returned in 2025 with new singles “Change My Mind” and “Dare To Fall In Love” and announced a tour across Australia and New Zealand, continuing their blend of lively garage‑infused indie rock.
