Bio
Protomartyr is an American rock band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 2010. Fronted by Joe Casey, the band has become one of the most acclaimed acts of the modern post-punk revival, known for combining sharp, literary lyricism with atmospheric guitar work, driving rhythms, and a distinctly Detroit edge. Their sound blends elements of post-punk, noise rock, and art rock, drawing comparisons to influential bands such as Wire, The Fall, and Pere Ubu. Over the years, Protomartyr has built a devoted international following through critically acclaimed albums including *The Agent Intellect*, *Relatives in Descent*, *Ultimate Success Today*, and *Formal Growth in the Desert*.
