PURITY RING is a Canadian electronic pop duo from Edmonton, Alberta, formed in 2010, consisting of vocalist Megan James and producer/multi-instrumentalist Corin Roddick. They are known for creating a distinctive style of atmospheric, emotionally charged electronic pop, blending glossy synth production with dark, dreamlike textures and fragmented, poetic lyrics. Their sound is often described as futuristic and immersive, combining elements of pop songwriting with experimental electronic production. The duo emerged from the early 2010s indie electronic scene and gained widespread attention with their debut album *Shrines* (2012), followed by *Another Eternity* (2015), *Womb* (2020), and their self-titled album *Purity Ring* (2025). Their music often explores themes of memory, identity, body horror, intimacy, and digital-world surrealism, paired with minimalist yet powerful production and Megan James’ ethereal vocal delivery.
