Quadeca (real name Benjamin Fernando Barajas Lasky) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer from Los Angeles, California. He first gained attention through YouTube in the mid-2010s, where he uploaded rap songs, diss tracks, and video content before transitioning into a full-time music career. Early in his career, he was associated with “YouTube rap,” but later evolved into a highly experimental artist, incorporating genres such as art pop, experimental hip hop, chamber pop, folktronica, glitch pop, and emo rap. His debut studio album Voice Memos (2019) marked his early commercial entry, followed by From Me to You (2021), which showed a major stylistic shift toward more emotional and experimental production. In 2022, he released I Didn’t Mean to Haunt You, a concept album about a ghost reflecting on life and loss, which was critically praised for its cinematic and atmospheric sound design. He continued expanding his sound with projects like Scrapyard (2024) and Vanisher, Horizon Scraper (2025), further blending experimental pop, indie folk, and avant-garde production into conceptual, narrative-driven albums.
