Rancore emerged from Rome’s underground hip-hop movement, releasing his first self-produced album Segui me in 2006. His collaboration with producer DJ Myke helped define his early sound, leading to projects such as Elettrico (2011), Silenzio (2012), and S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E. (2015). Known for what he describes as “rap ermetico” (hermetic rap), Rancore’s lyrics often use dense metaphors, symbolism, storytelling, and abstract concepts to explore identity, society, psychology, and existential themes. His album Musica per bambini (2018) expanded his audience, while his appearance at the Sanremo Festival with Daniele Silvestri on “Argentovivo” (2019) brought him wider recognition and earned critical acclaim. He later returned to Sanremo with “Eden” (2020), again receiving recognition for his songwriting.
