Born 18 May 1948 (some sources also say 1949) in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Started his recording career with the debut album Prussian Blue in 1973. Broke through with the single “Girls on the Avenue” (1975), which became one of his signature songs. Other notable albums include Goodbye Tiger (1977), Hearts on the Nightline (1979), The Great Escape (1982). Also worked as a producer — e.g. produced INXS’ second album Underneath the Colours (1981). Continues to perform, record, and release music to present. His more recent works include Harlequin Nights (2012), House of Orange (2016), and Music Is Love (1966-1970) (2021) — the latter being an album of covers from his formative years.
