Richard Fribert is a Swedish DJ, vinyl digger and selector based in Paris, known for his deep knowledge of forgotten and overlooked music from the mid‑1980s through the early 1990s. He curates eclectic, rhythm‑rich sets that draw from rare grooves, boogie, disco, italo, eurohouse, bhangra, zouk, MPB and a wide range of global sounds, blending them into vibrant dancefloor journeys that span underground and classic dance music idioms. Fribert is the label head of the Quartier Groove project (with DJ MOQST), a platform dedicated to sharing obscure, undiscovered electric grooves from around the world, and he helps organize events through the No Standards collective in Paris as well as hosting sets on Berlin’s community radio Refuge Worldwide. As a producer, he’s released material such as “Sueño Almohade (Rework)” (distributed by Bordello a Parigi in 2021), which reflects his passion for re‑imagining and celebrating the sounds he champions in his DJ sets. Richard regularly plays at underground venues and events internationally — from Europe to Tokyo — where his carefully curated selections bring together rare gems and fresh edits to create spirited, globally influenced club experiences.
