RP Boo (Kavain Space) is a Chicago-born DJ and producer widely credited as the founding father of footwork, a fast, rhythmically complex offshoot of juke and house music. Emerging from Chicago’s House-O-Matics dance scene in the 1990s, he helped shape the genre’s distinctive 160 BPM tempo, chopped samples, and battle-style grooves. His pioneering track “Baby Come On” and albums like Legacy and I’ll Tell You What! on Planet Mu brought global recognition to footwork. RP Boo remains a key figure linking Chicago’s underground roots to today’s experimental electronic scene.
