Schoolgirl byebye (校服少女) are an indie pop/dream pop band from Nanjing, China, formed in 2015. Their music blends lush dream pop textures, shoegaze-inspired guitars, and gentle indie pop melodies, creating a sound that is nostalgic yet modern. They quickly gained attention in China’s underground indie scene for their emotive, atmospheric style, often compared to bands like Alvvays, Cocteau Twins, and The Radio Dept. Their debut full-length album Love Is Overrated (2017) and follow-up works have been praised for their bittersweet lyrics, hazy guitar work, and shimmering soundscapes.
