Bio
Secondhand Serenade is the musical project of American singer‑songwriter and multi‑instrumentalist John Vesely, originating from Menlo Park, California. What began in 2004 as a deeply personal solo endeavor quickly grew into a globally recognized act, defined by emotionally charged songwriting, acoustic intimacy, and heartfelt vocals that connect with listeners around the world. Vesely first gained attention by recording his debut album Awake using layered acoustic guitar and multitracked vocals, building a devoted fanbase through early social media platforms like MySpace before signing with Glassnote Records. The re‑release of Awake in 2007 and the follow‑up album A Twist in My Story (featuring the hit single “Fall for You”) brought mainstream success and chart recognition, making Secondhand Serenade a defining voice in emo‑inflected pop‑rock of the 2000s. Over the years Vesely has continued releasing music and touring internationally, with fans drawn to his sincere lyrics, melodic storytelling and acoustic‑driven sound that blends emo, pop‑rock and alternative rock elements. Recent tours celebrate milestones like the 20th anniversary of Awake, reaffirming his lasting impact on emotionally resonant pop‑rock music.
