Seedy Jeezus are a Melbourne, Australia–based heavy psychedelic rock power trio formed around 2009–2010 by guitarist/vocalist Lex Waterreus, bassist Paul Crick, and drummer Mark Sibson. Known for blending 1960s psychedelic rock with 1970s heavy riff-driven rock, the band built a reputation in the underground scene through high-energy, improvisational live shows and a retro-inspired but modern sound. Their music draws on spacey psychedelia, stoner and hard-rock influences, and extended jams, often evoking artists like Pink Floyd, Hendrix, and Black Sabbath while pushing into progressive territory on later releases. Since their self-titled debut album in 2015, they’ve released multiple studio and live recordings and toured internationally, appearing at festivals such as Freak Valley and sharing stages with acts including Fu Manchu and Earthless. Their catalogue includes albums such as Seedy Jeezus (2015), Polaris Oblique (2018), and The Hollow Earth (2022), with later material like Damned to the Depths (2025) expanding their sound through progressive elements and vintage synth textures while retaining their signature heavy psychedelic core. Renowned for constant stylistic evolution and exploratory jams, Seedy Jeezus remain a notable presence in the global underground psych-rock scene.
