Segression are a pioneering Australian metal band from Wollongong, New South Wales, originally formed in the early 1990s under the name *Eezee* before adopting the Segression moniker in 1996. Known for their crushing riffs, groove-heavy sound, and relentless live performances, they became one of Australia's most influential heavy acts, helping shape the country's metal scene throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. The band built a loyal following through extensive touring and by sharing stages with major international acts including Pantera, Slipknot, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Machine Head, and Hatebreed. Their acclaimed albums *L.I.A. (Lesson in Aggression)*, *Fifth of the Fifth*, *Smile*, and *Never Dead* showcased a powerful blend of groove, aggression, and memorable songwriting, while *Smile* remains one of the best-selling Australian metal releases of its era. After periods of hiatus and reunion, Segression have continued to release music and celebrate their legacy, including the release of *Best of Segression* in 2026. Their enduring reputation has cemented them as one of Australia's most respected and influential heavy bands.
