Sigh is a pioneering avant-garde black metal band from Tokyo, Japan, formed in 1989 by Mirai Kawashima. Emerging from the early Norwegian black metal scene with support from Euronymous of Mayhem, Sigh quickly became known for pushing extreme metal into new territory. Their sound blends black metal with experimental elements including classical, psychedelic rock, jazz, orchestral arrangements, and traditional Japanese instruments, creating a dark, theatrical and unpredictable sonic identity. Across more than three decades, Sigh has earned cult status for their innovation and fearless genre evolution.
