Silicone Prairie is a U.S. indie/experimental music project led by Kansas City–based musician Ian Teeple. The project is known for its DIY approach and genre-blending sound, combining elements of indie rock, lo-fi punk, post-punk, and experimental pop. Silicone Prairie’s music often feels collage-like, mixing distorted guitars, tape-style textures, horns, and atmospheric layers into unconventional song structures. Across releases such as Vol. I and Vol. II, the project explores a wide range of moods—from noisy and chaotic to minimal and ambient—often shifting styles within the same track. This experimental approach gives the music a raw, unpredictable, and art-driven identity. Silicone Prairie is part of a modern underground scene focused on home recording, lo-fi aesthetics, and boundary-pushing indie experimentation, building a cult following through Bandcamp and independent releases.
