Bio
Skindred is a Welsh rock band from Newport, South Wales, formed in 1998 by frontman Benji Webbe following the breakup of his previous band, Dub War. Renowned for their explosive live performances, Skindred have built an international following by blending heavy guitar riffs with reggae rhythms, hip-hop grooves, punk energy, and electronic influences. Their distinctive sound—often referred to as "ragga metal"—has made them one of the most original and enduring acts in modern British rock and metal. Over their career, Skindred have released acclaimed albums including Babylon (2002), Roots Rock Riot (2007), Union Black (2011), Kill the Power (2014), Volume (2015), Big Tings (2018), Smile (2023), and You Got This (2026). Their music combines infectious hooks, socially conscious lyrics, and high-energy performances, earning accolades such as Best Live Band at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and establishing them as festival favorites worldwide.
