Spread Eagle formed in 1988 and quickly built a reputation on the club circuit with their aggressive blend of hard rock riffs, punk attitude, and glam metal style. The band signed with MCA Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1990, which included the song “Switchblade Serenade.” Their debut gained attention on rock radio and MTV, helping them tour with several well-known rock acts. A second album, Open to the Public (1993), followed, but the rise of grunge in the early 1990s slowed momentum for many glam-leaning bands. The band later reunited and returned to recording, releasing Subway to the Stars (2019), marking their first studio album in over 25 years.
