Stefania Serna is a Melbourne-based singer-songwriter originally from Cali, Colombia, whose music centres on Latin styles such as salsa and bolero blended with contemporary production. After beginning her musical career in Colombia as a teenager performing with salsa and tropical orchestras, she moved to Australia in 2012 and became active in the country’s Latin music scene, collaborating with artists including Grammy-winning singer Mayito Rivera and performing with bands such as Chukale, Calle Luna and Zona 7. Known for interpreting traditional salsa with a modern edge, Serna also co-founded Melbourne’s first all-female mariachi group, Queen of Hearts, and has contributed as a songwriter, producer and bandleader across multiple projects. Her releases — including singles like “Igual,” “Jamás Adiós,” and later EP material — reflect her role in bridging Colombian musical heritage with contemporary Australian multicultural influences. Alongside her solo work, she performs a range of Latin genres and continues to build a reputation as a prominent voice of contemporary salsa within Australia’s live music circuit.
